Groups should be a very important part of your LinkedIn Marketing Plan. By using Groups the right way you can reach tens of thousands of potential customers easily.

Be consistently active!

As I said so many times: being active is key to your LinkedIn success, and this is especially true for Groups. Just by joining them you won’t achieve much. You have to be active and repeat it over and over again to gain visibility and authority.

Find the right groups!

To see results you need to find the right audience for your activities. Look for 3 things when you search for groups:

  • keywords to find groups around the right topic,
  • the number of members, to see the size of your potential audience,
  • group activity level, to see whether it is a living and group.

If these indicators look right, the selected group will probably work well for your goals.

Be prepared, do your research!

After you found and joined the right groups, take a look around and try to find out what resonates with members of that specific group: what kinds of content do they post; about what topics; what got liked and commented? Note these things and save it for later to always be prepared.

Participation is key!

Now that you know what kind of content you should post, start participating in the groups:

  • comment and like other’s posts. Try keep comments relevant and valuable!
